The Buntingford 10 Mile Road Run offers runners an invigorating journey through the picturesque landscapes of Hertfordshire. Scheduled for Bank Holiday Monday on December 28th, 2026, this race begins at 10:30 AM and is a celebration of local heritage and community spirit. Participants will embark on a meticulously measured course that covers exactly ten miles (16 kilometers), winding through the charming streets of Buntingford and its scenic surroundings. The event's registration opens on September 1st, with entries available until all spots are filled or up to one week before race day—no late registrations allowed. The race atmosphere is vibrant and supportive, with a strict cut-off time set at 2:50 PM for official timing purposes. Runners who cross the finish line after this point will still be greeted warmly by volunteers but should note that support staff may begin to withdraw from their posts shortly thereafter. Awards are plentiful, celebrating both overall performance and age-group achievements. Trophies are awarded to the top three male and female runners in the race as well as first-place finishes for men and women aged 40+, 50+, 60+ & 70+. Each participant is limited to one trophy per event. In addition, this run doubles as a qualifier for the Hertfordshire Veterans Road Running County Championship. Winners and runners-up in various age categories will receive their medals immediately following the main Buntingford 10 awards ceremony. The championship includes individual accolades for women aged V35+, V45+, V55+, V65+ & V75+, and men aged V40+, V50+, V60+, V70+ & V80+. Team medals are also available, recognizing the top three female teams of 3 runners and male teams of 4. Race-goers can contribute to local causes by making a donation during registration. The Ward Freeman Community Pool Group aims to reopen their community pool located at Race HQ, while the Lynsey Ivison Trust provides special holidays for sick children in the area. Notably, Craig Ivison plans an ambitious feat: running ten consecutive Buntingford 10 Mile races back-to-back with hopes of completing his final leg during this event. Join us as we run through history and support our community on a day filled with inspiration and camaraderie.
