"Burn off the Turkey" Trifarm Winter 10k trail run
About the Event
The Winter Trail Series culminates with the fourth and final race of the season at Trifarm, located on Church Road in Boreham. This off-road adventure features 95%+ terrain over public footpaths and bridleways, making it a challenging yet scenic experience for trail runners. Registration begins at 09:30 am near the trifarm car park where participants can collect their race numbers and maps. The start time is set for 10:00 am sharp from the far end of the same parking area. Non-TRA/UKA members will be charged a £2 levy. The winter edition follows a predominantly clockwise route, avoiding areas near the river to prevent flooding issues during wetter months. Participants can preview the course on Strava (https://www.strava.com/routes/3178794520058297942) and access detailed route descriptions from multisport-management.co.uk. A day before the race, runners will receive an email with their start list containing race number information and maps. It's essential to wear your race number prominently on your front during the event for accurate timing purposes. Manually timed finishes mean that numbers must be visible at all times; otherwise, you won't have a recorded time. For those seeking additional comfort before or after the run, pre-run swims are available by booking through Trifarm's website, along with post-race sauna access. On-site parking is ample and free of charge. Hydration stations are limited to bottled water at registration and refill points near the bicycle racks both before starting and upon finishing. Food options include bacon rolls, tea, coffee, and cakes provided by Bill, Ruth, and their team from Trifarm. While there are no official water stops or marshals along the course, a tail runner will sweep up behind participants to ensure everyone's safety throughout the race duration. The event concludes promptly at 12:30 pm to allow for timely results compilation. Prizes await those who achieve top times in both male and female categories by the end of round four, with points accumulated according to MotoGP-style scoring visible on their website leaderboard. Notable course records include Lucy AITCHISON's impressive women’s time of 50:10 minutes (2025) and David ALLEN’s men’s record of 51:52 minutes (2024). Join us for a memorable trail running experience that combines challenging terrain with the warmth of community spirit at Trifarm.
