The Lichfield and Burnt Wood Triathlon Club presents an engaging multisport challenge for athletes of all ages, offering unique age categories tailored to ensure that participants have the best possible experience. This race series caters not only to seasoned triathletes but also to young talents who are just beginning their journey in the sport. For younger competitors, there's a special category called Tri Start designed specifically for 8-year-olds with a short swim of 50 meters followed by an invigorating run of 600 meters. As athletes progress through age groups, they can move up to the more challenging Tri Star categories: Tri Star 1 (9-10 years) featuring a 150-meter swim and 1.5-kilometer run; Tri Star 2 (11-12 years), which includes a 250-meter swim paired with a 2-kilometer run; and the more advanced Tri Star 3 for those aged 13 to 14, featuring a 400-meter swim and a 3-kilometer run. For youth athletes (aged 15-16), there's an even greater challenge ahead with a 400-meter swim and a longer 5-kilometer run. The adult category mirrors this distance setup but offers the same level of competition for those over 18 years old, as well as veteran categories including Vet (ages 40 to 49) and Super-Vet (age 50+), all featuring the standard 400-meter swim and a demanding 5-kilometer run. Entry fees are tiered based on registration deadlines: until April 30th, 2026, adult entries cost £20 while juniors pay £14. For those registering between May 1st, 2026, and April 4th, 2027, the price increases to £25 for adults and £18 for juniors. All participants must ensure they have a valid British Triathlon Federation (BTF) license if applicable, which should be presented at registration. The event kicks off with young athletes leading the way around 08:30 AM, setting an inspiring tone for the day's activities. Race details and updates will continue to be posted on the club’s website as race day approaches, providing participants and spectators alike with all necessary information to enjoy this exciting multisport experience. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or just starting out in your triathlon journey, there is no better place than Lichfield and Burnt Wood Triathlon Club's event series for honing skills and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow athletes.
