Cambridge Mill Race

Out‑and‑back along the Trans Canada Trail. Post‑race catered lunch from The Cambridge Mill Restaurant. The Cambridge Mill Race returns to Riverbluffs Park on Sunday, June 14, 2026. 8 km chip‑timed race and the Chipmunk Chase 1 km kids run (ages 1‑12). All finishers receive medals. The race supports Pollinator Partnership Canada — protecting bees, butterflies, and other pollinators from pesticides and habitat loss.

Location & Course:

• Riverbluffs Park, George St N, Cambridge, Ontario (Grand River valley)
• Walter Bean Trail — part of the Trans Canada Trail system, running along the Grand River
• Out‑and‑back format: run to 4 km, turn around, return to finish line
• Surface: mostly hard‑packed dirt and stone dust, with short asphalt sections
• Scenic views of the Grand River, riparian forest, and wildlife (birds, deer, pollinators)
• Water station at the 3 km / 5 km point (outbound and return)

What's Included:

• Chip timing for 8 km race (net time)
• Finisher medal for all 8 km runners and all Chipmunk Chase participants
• Post‑race catered lunch provided by The Cambridge Mill Restaurant (title sponsor) — included for all registered runners (8 km and kids)
• Age category awards for 8 km (specific categories on event website)
• Overall male and female winners awards
• Medical support on course
• Portable toilets at start/finish and at water station
• Bag drop at start area

Kids Race — Chipmunk Chase (1 km):

• For children ages 1‑12 (parents may accompany young children free of charge — check with organizer)
• Start time: 10:00 AM (before the 8 km race)
• All finishers receive a medal
• Short, safe, family‑friendly course within Riverbluffs Park (not on the main 8 km trail)

Charity Partner — Pollinator Partnership Canada:

• Non‑profit organization working to protect bees, butterflies, moths, beetles, and other pollinators
• Threats addressed: pesticide exposure, habitat loss, climate change, disease
• Works with farmers, gardeners, land managers, scientists, and industry to develop pollinator‑friendly tools and programs
• Proceeds from the race support their local and national initiatives

Post‑Race Catered Lunch:

• Provided by The Cambridge Mill Restaurant — a historic mill on the Grand River, known for fine dining and riverfront views
• Meal typically includes sandwiches, wraps, fruit, snacks, and beverages
• Vegetarian and gluten‑free options likely available (check with organizer)

Logistics:

• Parking at Riverbluffs Park and surrounding streets (arrive early — limited spaces). Carpool recommended.
• Public transport: Grand River Transit (GRT) bus routes serve the area — check schedules.
• Bib pickup: race morning from 8:30 AM at Riverbluffs Park.
• On‑site registration may be available for Chipmunk Chase (subject to capacity).
• No dogs allowed on course (service animals excepted).
• Strollers permitted in Chipmunk Chase only (not on 8 km course).
• Wheelchair accessibility: Walter Bean trail is hard‑packed and generally accessible — contact organizer for specific needs.
• No headphones? Check event rules — safety first on shared trail.

Refund & Transfer Policy:

• No refunds or deferrals.
• You may transfer your bib to another runner (name change) — contact the race director. Under no circumstances should you run with a bib registered to someone else.
• 8 km waitlist available — contact the organizer to be added.
