Canada Day 5th Street Mile

Celebrate Canada Day with the 5th Street Mile Run on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. This beloved Comox Valley tradition invites you to join runners and families for an exciting one-mile race along the parade route. Starting at the corner of 5th Street and Woods Avenue, participants will run down 5th Street before finishing in Simms Park just as the parade begins.
Pre-register by June 30th at midnight to secure your spot. On-site registrations are not accepted on race day. Pick up your bib number from FOVEO Running on Tuesday, June 30th between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM or at Lake Trail Community School parking lot (805 Willemar Ave., Courtenay) starting at 8:30 AM.
The race kicks off promptly at 9:30 AM. While there is no official timing, the finish line clock will display your elapsed time from start to finish. Post-race festivities include refreshments and a draw for prizes in Simms Millennium Park. All kids receive a freezie as part of their awards!
Please note that this event does not allow dogs, bikes, or skateboards due to safety concerns; strollers are permitted but should be positioned at the back.
