CANNOCK CHASE OFF-ROAD DUATHLONS

Immerse yourself in the captivating beauty of Cannock Chase Forest as we welcome you back for another exhilarating season of off-road duathlons. Located just north of Birmingham, this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers stunning forest trails and open heathland that are perfect for trail running and cycling.
The 2026 edition features two challenging yet accessible courses: the Sprint Duathlon and the Standard Duathlon. The Sprint course consists of a 5km run followed by an 19km cycle, concluding with another 2.5km run. For those seeking a more comprehensive challenge, the Standard Duathlon offers a 10km run, a grueling 34km ride, and finishes off with a final 5km jog.
Both events are designed to cater to all levels of athletes—from beginners testing their limits in nature’s playground to seasoned competitors pushing for personal bests. The courses wind through the forest's varied terrain, ideal for gravel, cyclocross (CX), or mountain bikes.
Competitors will enjoy secure transition areas where they can rack up gear and ensure everything is ready before hitting the trails. Race numbers must match designated spots in both run segments to maintain order. A small bag or box is permitted within each transition area, making it easy for athletes to manage their belongings efficiently.
Start times are set at 8:00am for the Standard Duathlon and 8:20am for the Sprint version, ensuring a smooth flow of events throughout the day. Live chip-timing by Timing Up North guarantees accurate results, which can be used towards British Triathlon Age Group Qualifiers, adding an extra layer of motivation.
Upon crossing the finish line, all participants will receive event medals and exclusive Wild Deer merchandise to commemorate their achievement. Refreshments including drinks and snacks are available to help you recover after your efforts.
