The Cape 5K & 10K returns to Cordova, Tennessee on Saturday, June 13th, promising runners an exhilarating morning in the heart of Shelby Farms Park’s Tour De Wolf Trails. This race is a part of the Cobra Den Trail Series and offers participants a unique blend of winding dirt singletrack trails alongside grassy paths that wind through tall trees and scenic lake views. As summer arrives, this event kicks off with a vibrant community atmosphere that welcomes both newcomers to trail running as well as seasoned athletes looking for an engaging challenge.
The Tour De Wolf Trails are renowned for their diverse terrain, featuring fast runnable stretches peppered with gentle hills that add character to the race without overwhelming runners. Finisher medals are awarded to all participants along with age group awards that highlight individual achievements within various categories. Runners will receive cooling towels at the finish line as well as ice-cold sodas after crossing the threshold, helping them cool down in style.

The Cape 5K & 10K offers registration through Ultrasignup for both distances: a $45 entry fee for the 10K and $40 for the shorter 5K. Early bird pricing is available until April 30th, after which regular rates apply up to race day. Packet pickup will be held at the Tour De Wolf Pavilion on Friday from 4 PM to 6 PM or Saturday morning starting at 6 AM until 6:45 AM prior to the start of the races.
Participants should plan to park inside Shelby Farms Park next to the Discovery Playground, where bathrooms and additional amenities are also located. The race begins and ends near Great View Drive North in a picturesque setting that immerses runners right into the heart of nature. Children aged 5 or older may participate with parental permission; it is recommended for those under ten years old to have an adult running alongside them.
As summer weather sets in, expect warm temperatures around 26 degrees Celsius but be prepared for cooler mornings and evenings due to average wind speeds reaching up to nine kilometers per hour. The trails will remain hard and dry despite potential rainfall amounts of about three millimeters during the day. UV index levels are expected to peak at eight, indicating very high sun exposure—make sure to pack sunscreen and a hat.
