Embark on the Carnival Chase run through picturesque Warminster Town Park, an idyllic setting that offers a mix of country lanes and trails leading to scenic views around the boating lake. The terrain is smooth with no stiles but includes several kissing gates along the route.
This event supports the local community by backing the annual Warminster Carnival, making it more than just a race—it's a celebration of fitness and fun for all ages. Participants can look forward to age-specific awards in both 10K and 3K categories, as well as special prizes for wheelchair racers, buggy participants, and young runners.
The park boasts ample facilities including toilets and refreshment stands where you can grab some snacks or drinks after the race. The course is also equipped with two water stations along the 10K route to keep everyone hydrated during their run. Safety measures include first aid coverage and insurance for all participants.
Parking options are plentiful in Warminster, but organizers request that attendees avoid using Morrisons car park out of respect for local businesses and residents. Car sharing is encouraged to reduce traffic congestion around the event area.
Registration opens at 09:00 with a final check-in time of 10:00 where you can collect your race number. The races start promptly, with the 10K beginning at 10:30, followed by the 3K at 10:45 and the family-friendly 1.2K fun run starting shortly after at 10:50.
Before each race begins, a brief safety briefing will be held to ensure everyone understands the rules and guidelines for a smooth experience. Marshals are on-site throughout the event to provide guidance and support as needed.
Entry fees vary by category:
- 10K: £22 (affiliated runners) or £24 (unattached), open to those 16 years old and above.
- 3K: £12 (affiliated runners) or £14 (unattached); children under ten must be accompanied by an adult unless the family consents otherwise for experienced young racers.
- 1.2K Family - Wheelchair & Buggy Fun Run: £7 per participant, suitable for wheelchairs and buggies.
Registration closes at 6pm on August 25th, or earlier if capacity is reached. No entries will be accepted on the day of the event to ensure a well-organized experience for all runners.
Participants are reminded not to use headphones during the race as it's crucial to hear instructions from marshals and stay alert throughout the course. Race numbers should be securely fastened at the front, visible upon crossing the finish line where every runner will receive a medal regardless of their placing.
Additionally, merchandise such as buffs for £5 or bib clips for £6 can be ordered in advance with collection on race day.
