Cave Creek Cactus Classic

The Cave Creek Cactus Classic, affectionately known as the "C4," returns on November 14, 2026, offering riders an unforgettable journey through Arizona's rugged Sonoran desert. This iconic mountain bike race has been a testament to endurance and camaraderie since its inception in 2008.
The C4 is more than just a race; it’s a celebration of resilience and community spirit. While the event doesn’t coincide with Veterans Day, participants are encouraged to honor those who have served their country through this challenging course that mirrors the strength and perseverance displayed by our nation's veterans every day.
This year marks an exciting new tradition: The Best of the Best Single-Speed Trophy. Riders will face a grueling 25-mile route without shifting gears, pushing them to dig deep into their reserves of determination and grit. Winners in both male and female categories will have their names permanently engraved on this prestigious trophy, which remains proudly displayed at Local Jonny's in Cave Creek.
Registration for the C4 includes entry fees, aid station access, chip timing, and a race t-shirt until October 13th; after that date, shirts can be purchased for $25. Early bird discounts are available throughout July to November leading up to the event, with prices ranging from $75 in early July to $140 by late November.
The day kicks off at Local Jonny's (6033 E Cave Creek Rd) where packet pickup begins at 7:00 AM. Volunteers will be on hand starting at 7:00–7:30 am, and riders can stage for the race from 8:15 to 8:30 am before the official start time of 8:30 am.
The course itself offers a thrilling mix of steep climbs and technical descents across 25 miles with over 2,000 feet of elevation gain. Riders should expect conditions that range from challenging for beginners (with completion times around 2.5 to 3.5 hours) to near-impossible feats by seasoned racers who might finish in under two hours.
Post-race festivities include a lively celebration at Local Jonny's, featuring live music and awards presentations starting at noon. All veterans are welcome to ride for free; those interested should contact dfmbainfo@gmail.com for their promo code.
