Spring into adventure at the CCAP Spring Mountain Bike Season, where young riders aged 9 to 18 can explore trails and improve their skills under the guidance of USA Cycling-certified coaches. This regional program offers a supportive environment for both boys and girls, fostering growth in cycling techniques as well as trail stewardship. The season kicks off with an indoor session on March 14th at Pedal Power in Middletown, CT, where riders can fine-tune their skills before hitting the trails. From there, teams will practice twice a week while preparing for select weekend races starting from March 28-29, when coaches gather for training sessions at Winding Trails in Farmington. Highlights of the season include the Governor's First Short Track on April 18th at the 1st Company Horse Guard in Avon. Participants will then race through Mohegan Park in Norwich on May 2nd and challenge themselves further with the Spy XC event in Moodus on May 16th, both offering exhilarating cross-country experiences. On June 6th, Team Red Dragon brings families together for a memorable ride at Hatchery Brook in Berlin. The season concludes with a festive trail festival on June 13th in Colebrook, CT, where riders can enjoy the camaraderie of fellow participants and celebrate their achievements. All CCAP teams will compete for individual and team points across this series, creating an exciting atmosphere that encourages both personal growth and collective success. Whether you're new to mountain biking or a seasoned rider looking to push your limits, there's plenty here to keep everyone engaged and entertained. To ensure safety and performance, riders must wear properly fitted bike helmets and have their bikes checked at CCAP Pedal Partners or local bike shops. A valid 2026 USA Cycling Junior RACE license is also required for all participants; you can obtain or renew yours online. Families joining the program are expected to follow the 2026 CCAP Protocols, detailed in the Waivers section of the registration form. Should the Spring Session be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances beyond CCAP's control, registered families may defer their fees and receive credits towards future seasons—50% before May 1st, 25% between May 1st and 31st, with no refunds after this date.
