From July 19 to 24, immerse yourself in the vibrant community at UConn's Storrs campus for an unparalleled five-day overnight camp tailored exclusively for junior cyclists aged 12 to 18. This intensive program offers a dynamic blend of training and exploration through both structured skill sessions and exhilarating rides across diverse trail networks. Experience a supportive environment where you can refine your cross-country skills under the guidance of experienced racers, USAC-licensed coaches, and CCAP staff. The camp is designed to challenge and inspire as participants tackle varied terrain including flow trails, jump sections, rock gardens, steep climbs, and technical singletrack. Each day starts with a core workout followed by in-depth ride planning sessions that prepare you for the adventures ahead. Enjoy comprehensive accommodations in shared dorm rooms on UConn’s picturesque campus, where two campers share each room. All meals are included, ensuring nutritious sustenance throughout your stay at premier dining facilities. Small coaching groups maintain a 1:5 ratio to provide personalized instruction and feedback. The day unfolds with morning rides that set the tone for skill development sessions in the afternoon. Afternoons offer free time to recharge or explore campus life before dinner. Evening clinics and group activities foster camaraderie among participants, making every moment memorable. This camp is perfect for cyclists who are already skilled but eager to elevate their performance. Whether you're looking to master challenging routes or simply enjoy a fun and supportive atmosphere with other passionate riders, this event will push your limits while providing an unforgettable experience. Sign up if you’re ready to climb hills, tackle long rides, and spend quality time on singletrack trails—all under the watchful eye of dedicated coaches. Enthusiasm for cross-country riding and a willingness to work hard are key traits that will help you thrive in this environment. Please note that while participants can bring phones or devices, they'll be stored during non-ride times to encourage social interaction. A $300 deposit is required to secure your spot with the remainder invoiced after registration. The camp runs from Sunday afternoon until Friday afternoon, allowing ample time for both training and relaxation. For more information on device policies and emergency contacts, please reach out to CCAP staff who will provide necessary details upon registration.
