Chouette Trail des Chemins Creux

Chouette’Trail 2026, the ninth edition of this unique nocturnal trail running series organized by Les JSCoulaines section athlétisme, promises an unforgettable night under the stars. Set to take place at Espace sportif Georges Bollengier in Stragier, the event features four distinct races catering to various age groups and skill levels.
The main attractions are two timed events: a 3 km race for runners aged cadet (born in or before 2011) and above, including those with disabilities but not using wheelchairs; an 8 km trail open to all participants who meet the minimum age requirement; and a challenging 16 km course designed specifically for juniors born on or before 2009. The latter includes a strict time limit: runners must complete their first lap by 21:20, after which they will be disqualified from continuing.
For families looking to enjoy the evening together, there's also a one-kilometer loop that welcomes children and adults alike—perfect for those born in or since 2020. All participants are required to wear a functional headlamp during their run as this is an entirely nocturnal event.
The race day unfolds with staggered start times: the family loop kicks off at 18:30, followed by the 3 km race at 19:00 and the 8 km trail at 20:00. The longest distance, the 16 km challenge, begins at 20:20.
A key feature of the longer course is a mid-race refreshment station located near the stade after eight kilometers, offering runners crucial sustenance to fuel them through their journey in the dark. Additionally, all participants must wear their bibs visibly throughout the race and ensure they are properly filled out before handing it over at registration.
In terms of logistics, entries can be submitted via Klikego.com or by paper form until October 14th, with a deadline for online submissions on October 9th to secure your spot. The entry fee includes access to a baggage drop-off area near the start/finish line and is non-refundable under any circumstances.
Those planning ahead can collect their bibs from RunAventure in Le Mans between October 10th and 15th, or on race day itself at Salle Conty. Be sure to bring your identification for pick-up purposes.
Competitors are encouraged to join the corporate challenge by selecting a checkbox during registration and listing their company name—top three teams will earn recognition with the prestigious Jérémie trophy.
With limited spots available (100 for families, 50 for the 3 km race, 600 for the 8 km trail, and 400 for the 16 km), early registration is highly recommended to secure your place in this exciting night-time adventure.
