On October 11, 2026, the Parque 13 de Maio will host a community-focused race day aimed at raising awareness and support for children battling cancer in Pernambuco. Organized by Grupo de Ajuda à Criança Carente com Câncer de Pernambuco (GAC-PE), this event is not only a celebration of health but also an opportunity to foster solidarity among participants. The race includes various activities designed for all ages and fitness levels: a 5-kilometer run, a 15-kilometer bike ride, a 900-meter kids' walk, and a pet-friendly stroll. Each participant will receive a kit that includes a t-shirt, visor, bib number, medal, and backpack (for the pet event, there's an additional bandana for your furry friend). The morning kicks off with a gathering at Parque 13 de Maio starting at 5:30 AM, setting the tone for a day filled with community spirit. The race is open to everyone who wishes to contribute and support this important cause. While it’s not an official competition, all participants will be part of something bigger than themselves—a movement that encourages early cancer detection and healthy living habits among children. Registration closes on October 9, 2026, or when the event reaches capacity. Each participant must adhere to the race regulations upon signing up. The kits can be picked up at designated locations with a valid photo ID before the day of the race. Come join this uplifting community effort and help make a difference in the lives of young cancer patients across Pernambuco.
