About the Event

Experience the thrill of the 13th Annual Coast to Crest 10K and 5k trail race, held annually in Del Mar, California. This unique course offers runners an exhilarating experience with its predominantly flat terrain, making it a favorite among sprinters seeking new personal records (PRs).
The route begins with a slight challenge—aside from the initial quarter mile—which quickly transitions into a smooth and fast-paced journey through picturesque landscapes. The race features stunning lagoon views that stretch out wide on either side of you as you run along the trail, creating an unforgettable backdrop for your run.
As you near the finish line, prepare to enjoy a downhill sprint, offering both a physical and psychological boost to end your race with a flourish. Keep your eyes peeled; if fortune favors you, you might catch sight of osprey birds soaring overhead, as this area is known for its nesting sites among these majestic creatures.
Both courses are designed in an out-and-back format, ensuring that runners traverse well-groomed dirt trails that cater to all skill levels—whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting your journey. The race serves not only as a standalone event but also acts as the final qualifier for the prestigious Sunshine Series Championship.
