About the Event

The Emigration Canyon Challenge invites runners to explore the scenic beauty of Salt Lake City through its invigorating race courses. Participants will gather at RotaryGlen Park Pavilion, located near Hogle Zoo and at the mouth of Emigration Canyon, for packet pickup on November 25th from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Those unable to attend this time can pick up their packets early Thursday morning starting at 7:30 AM.
The 6K run begins near the State Capitol and follows Bonneville Boulevard, winding through the city for three-quarters of a mile before entering City Creek Canyon. As runners ascend into the canyon, they'll be treated to breathtaking views and fresh mountain air. The course turns around at the designated turnaround sign in the heart of the canyon and retraces its path back down to Memory Grove Park where the race concludes.
For younger participants, there's also a 1K Fun Run along Bonneville Boulevard for kids eager to join in on the fun. Starting from the same point as the adult run, this shorter course offers a half-kilometer jaunt before turning around and returning to the starting line.
Parking is conveniently located east of the State Capitol for easy access to both events. The Emigration Canyon Challenge promises an unforgettable day out with family-friendly activities and stunning natural surroundings.
