New this year: the winner receives 2 pairs of Mount To Coast shoes, with 2nd and 3rd place each receiving 1 pair. Mount To Coast demos will be available at the race for runners who want to try a lap in them. Also new for 2026: for every lap completed, $50 is added to a prize pot, with the winner taking all. For example, 12 laps (24 hours) equals a $600 prize purse.

Last Person Standing format rules: runners get 2 hours to complete the 7.7 mile Coldwater Loop. Every 2 hours, the loop starts over. Failure to return to the runners corral by the next 2 hour start results in disqualification. Not being in the runner's corral at all by the start of the next loop results in disqualification. A minimum of 2 runners must start each loop for the race to continue. The winner must complete the last loop that the 2nd place runner does not complete.

Example scenarios: if 2 runners start but one turns around after a mile, the solo runner completing that loop is declared winner and cannot continue alone. If 2 runners start a loop but one finishes outside the time limit, the first place runner must complete the next loop to be declared winner. If they do not, everyone is disqualified and no winner is declared.

The start and finish are at the same location. A pavilion and bathrooms with running water are available. Each runner receives a 10x10 foot spot in the horse arena to set up a tent, canopy, or aid station. Water, electrolyte, and various goodies are available at the pavilion, but runners with specific needs should bring their own. Crews are welcome to stay all day and night.

Important: it can and probably will be very windy at various times of the day. Bring weights to keep canopies from blowing away. Stakes are not enough—the ground is a soft and sandy horse corral, so stakes will not anchor tents. If enough space is available, the pavilion can be used, but do not rely on it. Goathead thorns are very prevalent around the tent areas, so plan accordingly. Last year, the winner completed 10 laps totaling 77 miles with 13,000 feet of climbing. Some canopies flew away even with weights, so crews should be prepared.

The event is organized by Enjoy The Journey Events. Results from 2025 are available. Come test your limits at Coldwater In Your Veins—register before 29 May 2026 to join this unique last person standing challenge in the mountains of North Ogden.
