Experience the grandeur of Colorado's natural beauty at this year’s premier alpine cycling event: the Copper Triangle. Scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026, this iconic race promises an unforgettable journey through some of the state's most scenic landscapes. The course stretches a challenging yet rewarding 79 miles, offering cyclists three significant climbs that will test your endurance and skill. With a total elevation gain of 6,500 feet, riders can expect breathtaking views from every vantage point along the route. The race commences and concludes at Copper Mountain Resort’s Burning Stones Plaza, providing a fitting backdrop for both start and finish. A dedicated team ensures that cyclists are well-supported throughout their journey with ample aid stations stocked with healthy snacks and energizing refreshments. Post-ride celebrations await participants in the form of a hearty lunch, a lively beer garden, an expo area, and entertainment options to celebrate your achievements. As part of the event package, each participant will receive a commemorative cycling jersey or tech tee, along with a finisher metal token. Number plates and bibs are also provided for easy identification during the race. For those who find their chosen attire doesn’t fit quite right, exchanges can be made at the merchandise booth; however, availability is limited. The event aims to raise funds for the Davis Phinney Foundation through Team DPF participation. Since 2006, these efforts have contributed over $1 million towards supporting individuals living with Parkinson’s disease—your contribution will help continue this vital work. Participants are encouraged to start between 6 a.m. and 7:45 a.m., ensuring they are on the road by 8:00 a.m. Early starters can avoid afternoon thunderstorms and reduce highway traffic congestion. Safety is paramount, so cyclists must have both front and back lights visible from dusk till dawn. A special offer for young riders aged 16 years or younger allows free participation, making this event accessible to aspiring cyclists of all ages. The Copper Triangle race will take place rain or shine; therefore, no refunds are offered due to weather conditions. Join us at the Copper Triangle and witness firsthand why it remains a beloved tradition in Colorado’s cycling community.
