On December 27, 2026, the picturesque town of Romarimontaine will host its annual athletics festival, featuring five competitive races and one festive run. The day promises to be filled with excitement as runners of all ages take part in various distances tailored for different age groups.
The festivities kick off at 3:30 PM with an introductory event designed specifically for beginners and young athletes. This short 700-meter course is aimed at promoting physical activity among the community's youngest members, offering a fun-filled environment to encourage engagement with athletics.
At 3:45 PM, children from local schools will compete in a one-kilometer race known as "Course des Écoles." Participants aged U12 and younger are invited to join this spirited event that celebrates their athletic abilities. The competition is part of the Jean-Paul Pers Challenge, which aims at fostering healthy rivalry among students.
Following closely behind, at 4:00 PM, a slightly longer one-and-a-half kilometer race will take place for middle school children in the Benjamins and Minimes categories (U14 & U16). This segment of the festival offers an opportunity for young athletes to showcase their skills on a more challenging course.
As evening approaches, at 4:25 PM, adult amateur runners can participate in a seven-and-a-half kilometer race. The event is open to men and women across different age categories (U18 - U20 - U23) as well as Senior Elite (SE), Master A (MA). This competitive run requires pre-registration through the official platform by December 22, 2026.
For those interested in competing for prizes or qualifying times, early bird registration before October 14, 2026 is recommended at a reduced fee of €11. Registrations between October 15 and November 29 will cost €13, while late registrations from November 30 to December 22 are priced at €15.
The final race on the schedule begins at 5:45 PM with another seven-and-a-half kilometer event exclusively for women in similar age categories as their male counterparts. Both races offer a chance to compete against peers and push personal limits, all while enjoying scenic routes through Romarimontaine’s charming streets.
To round off the day's events, an un-timed festive run called "FESTI RUN" invites everyone—families, businesses, associations, groups—to join in at 5:15 PM. This non-competitive event encourages participants to dress up and parade through town as part of a lively procession. Registrations can be made on-site the day before or during the festival itself.
Dossiers for all races must be collected either at Palais des Congrès from December 26, 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, or on race day starting two hours prior until half an hour before each event. Note that dossards with timing chips will only be provided for the middle school and adult amateur races.
