The traditional Aracaju Marathon, entering its 12th edition on December 6, 2026, offers runners of all levels the chance to experience the scenic beauty and vibrant atmosphere along the city's coastline. The race features a half marathon distance of 21.1 kilometers starting at Farol do Mosqueiro at 4:30 AM, followed by shorter options including 13 km, 6 km, and 3 km races beginning from the picturesque Farol da Coroa do Meio at 5:30 AM. All race routes wind through public streets with mostly asphalt surfaces but also include natural terrain variations. Participants must be at least 14 years old for the 3km race, 16 for the 6km, and 18 for both the 13 km and half marathon distances. The event provides comprehensive kits including a drawstring bag, visor, numbered bib with chip timing, finisher medal upon completion, and post-race snacks. For those opting for the complete package, runners receive an additional race shirt. The day kicks off at 3:00 AM with arena opening followed by bus departure to the starting line of the half marathon at 3:30 AM. A warm-up session begins just before the start time at 4:15 AM. Meanwhile, a separate pre-race warm-up for shorter distances starts at 5:15 AM. Post-race festivities include live music and dance performances from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM, followed by award ceremonies recognizing general winners and age group categories starting from noon onwards until the event's conclusion around midday. The day is filled with entertainment options like shows and giveaways, making for a memorable celebration of running in Aracaju. Participants are required to present government-issued photo identification upon kit pickup at designated locations announced beforehand by race organizers. No on-site or post-event kit distribution will be available.
