Course du Festival Acadien / Acadian Festival Road Race returns to Wellington, Prince Edward Island on Saturday, September 5th, 2026.
The race takes place in the heart of Wellington’s scenic park, where runners will navigate through familiar streets and lush green spaces. The event is set for a cool autumn morning with temperatures around 13°C (55°F), making it an ideal day to enjoy the fall foliage without too much heat or chill. Starting at 9:00 AM sharp, participants can choose from five-kilometer, ten-kilometer, and twenty-one-kilometer distances.
Course du Festival Acadien / Acadian Festival Road Race has been a staple of the community since its inception in 2017. Each year brings together hundreds of runners who support local charities and scholarships through their participation. The race not only showcases Wellington’s vibrant spirit but also serves as a significant fundraising event for various causes.

Logistics:

The registration fee is $30 for adults and a bit higher for virtual races at $40. Youth running series are available with fees starting from $10.
Bibs can be picked up on race day between 7:30 AM to 8:25 AM at the Wellington Town Hall, located at 123 Main Street, Wellington. Participants should bring their ID and a copy of their registration confirmation.
The start location for all races is at Wellington Park, situated off Main Street near the community center. The event welcomes runners from various age groups; however, there are specific requirements to ensure fairness in competition. First-timers or those who have not participated before might find it beneficial to familiarize themselves with the route and timing.
