Courses des Foulées Pélissannaises - Trails du Caronte et du Calabrun
About the Event
On October 10th, the Foulées Pélissannaises race series returns with a variety of activities for runners and walkers. Starting at 2:00 PM, participants can enjoy numerous events tailored to all ages and skill levels. For young athletes, there's the "Ronde des Pitchouns," featuring distances and games designed specifically for children. The event also introduces two new races this year: a 3km run for teenagers aged 11-14 and a 5km race open to adults, both of which are part of the Terre de Mistral - Découverte challenge. The centerpiece remains the famous 10km race, now classified under the challenging Terre de Mistral - Elite category. This event attracts runners from across the region who come for its competitive edge and scenic route through Pélissanne's countryside. For those interested in trail running, two new events are on offer this year: The Trail du Caronte, a beginner-friendly course that explores local trails as part of the Terre de Mistral - Premium challenge; and the 2nd Trail du Calabrun, an evening run through hilly terrain above Pélissanne under the stars, fitting into the competitive Terre de Mistral - Performance category. In addition to these races, there's also a leisurely walk covering around 8km, weaving between vineyards and olive groves. This peaceful route offers stunning views of the countryside while allowing participants to enjoy nature at their own pace. The day is not just about competition but also camaraderie. A partnership village will be set up outside Salle Malacrida until 6:30 PM, offering refreshments and merchandise from local sponsors. After sunset, as night falls on Pélissanne, the event moves indoors to a cozy venue where participants can relax with food and drinks while waiting for the trail runners returning under moonlight. Packet pickup begins at noon, allowing early arrivals time to explore the town or prepare for their events. The Foulées Pélissannaises promise an engaging day of running, walking, and community spirit. Whether you're a seasoned athlete looking for competition or someone seeking a leisurely stroll through picturesque landscapes, there's something here for everyone to enjoy.
