Coventry 300 5k Run & 1.5 Mile Fun Walk

Description:

Coventry Church will again sponsor the Coventry 300 5k.  Inaugurated in 2024 to celebrate Coventry Church’s 300th birthday, this event has been making strides as a unique family friendly, community centered race, with something for everyone. 

5k:  The third year of this race will reveal a slight derivation in the course to make it more runner friendly and include a team option.  The race will start and finish next to the church parking lot on Keen Road.  The course is an out and back.  The first half is mostly downhill, going through neighborhoods. A brief departure onto a paved footpath will take runners around a pond in Kenilworth before returning to the streets. The second half of the race will return runners to an exciting finish line experience.

The team option will allow a group of five runners to register under a team name and compete against other registered teams.  The team score will be the cumulative sum of the finishing place for each team member. 

Fun Walk:  Those who want to participate but not run the 5k can register for a 1.5-mile fun walk.  The walk will start at approximately 9:30 and follow the race course. 

Kids-Run:  We will continue this fun portion of the morning and allow the children to race along Keen road!  Last year’s kid-run was a highlight full of smiles, competition, excitement and joy as children raced toward a finish line surrounded by family members and friends.  This is free, and will vary in length due to age (no longer than 200m).  Each child will receive a prize. 

Post-race refreshments, music, fellowship and age group awards will culminate the 5k experience.  The Coventry 300 5k is held in conjunction with the Coventry Church Fall Festival.  Following the race and award ceremony, there will be food, games, and activities for children and adults. 

AWARDS:    5K:  Separate awards for the male and female winners plus top 3 in each age group: 14 & under: 15-19: 20-29: 30-39: 40-49: 50-59: 60-69: 70+
