Coyote Crawl 5K and Head for the Hills 10K

About the Event

The 2026 Coyote Crawl 5K and Head for the Hills 10K are set to take place on Saturday, November 7th at Bellefontaine Cemetery, Missouri's first Level III Arboretum. This autumnal event offers runners a unique opportunity to explore over 314 acres of rolling hills and lush landscapes during one of the most picturesque times of year.
Participants can choose between an in-person run or a virtual option that allows them to complete their distance on their own turf anytime from October 31st through November 7th. The in-person race starts at 8:35 a.m., following check-in from 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Bellefontaine Cemetery, recognized as the oldest garden cemetery west of the Mississippi River, is home to over 87,000 lives commemorated among its historic grounds and beautiful arboretum setting. The rolling hills offer stunning views and an immersive experience for runners who will appreciate the serene atmosphere while navigating varied terrain.
Registration includes a race shirt and commemorative medal for those who sign up before October 1st. Race day packet pickup is available from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., but it's important to note that due to parking limitations, registration is limited to the first 250 participants.
The event supports the Friends of Bellefontaine and its community support programs such as Angels Rest, historic preservation efforts, and educational tours. Runners who prefer not to register in advance can purchase shirts and medals at a limited quantity on race day while supplies last.
Bicycles are restricted from participating for safety reasons, ensuring an enjoyable run free from distractions or hazards. Join the Coyote Crawl 5K or Head for the Hills 10K this fall and be part of a historic tradition that honors the past while supporting important community initiatives.

Scenic view of

The Gateway City of St. Louis is the epitome of the modern Midwestern metropolis. Missouri's second-largest city is vibrant but laid-back, populous but navigable, historic but still relevant. The city's planners have created an aesthetically beautiful city, with plenty of green space amidst buildings both old and new, framed by the majestic Mississippi and Missouri rivers. And capping it all is the world's tallest man-made monument, the beautiful and iconic Gateway Arch.
