About the Event

True Adventure

Registration is now open! Experience true adventure on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Experience primal trails and canyons on the Pahvant Range! Distances: 10km, 21km (1/2 Marathon), and the Spinal Tap Trail 60km. This Crimson Canyon Ultra and Trail Runs links together canyons, dry washes, remote sections of the Paiute ATV Trail systems, and the Pahvant Mountain Bike Trail System into a very unique experience. Run up red rock streambeds, along the rim of spectacular cliffs, power up and speed down groomed dirt trails, and catch great vistas on ridgelines. The 60km takes a breathtaking route up to the summit of White Pine Peak (10,200 feet), and then gradually descends 18 miles on the Spinal Tap MTB Trail. This is the signature center the 60km . The 1/2 Marathon (new route in 2025), catches the Big Red, Kiln-It, and Faulty Trails up, then panoramic views along the Cottonwood Canyon Rim, across Little Valley and the One-in-a-Pinion trail, until descending on Lower Spinal Tap Trail. Click here to see a 1/2 marathon run thru video. The 10km runs up the Big Red and Kiln-It Trails, then comes back down Cairn-Age & the Tank Run Trails.

The Run

Racing in the heart of Panoramaland involves running in dry streambeds/washes, traveling on defined yet remote sections of the Paiute ATV trail, and hitting sections of the brand new Pahvant Trail (mountain bike) System. These are all part of the Fishlake National Forest. Elevation Gain: * 10km (6.2 miles) 1226 feet / 374 meters (time limit 4 hours) * 1/2 Marathon (13.1 miles / 21.1km) 2009 feet or 612 Meters (time limit 8 hours) * 60 km (38 miles). 6980 feet or 2128 Meters (time limit 15 hours)

Getting There and Logistics

Richfield is located in Central Utah, about an 1hr 45min drive South of Provo, and about 1hr 40min North of Cedar City. There are many hotels to choose from in Richfield, as well as a KOA. Our race partner hotel, Ramada of Richfield is actually the very closest to the starting line. Book accommodations early as there are several other large events in Richfield the same weekend. They have discount pricing for race participants. Packet Pickup will be the evening before at the Lion's Park where the race starts/ends from 4-7PM. Morning-of pickup is discouraged, but available if you arrive at least 45 minutes before your race begins. Timed starts, and chipped finished by Runnercard.com. There will be several aid stations throughout the course, stocked with standard ultra fare, including Hammer gels, fizz, & Heed. Given distances in rugged canyons and time (1 to 2 hours or more between stations), all runners MUST carry a personal hydration solution. 60k runners have a few other required items, including a rain jacket. One drop bags will be available at Aid Stations #3 for 60k runners.
