The Triatlón Caburgua 2027, organized by the Asociación de Triatlon de Pucón, invites athletes from around the world to experience its stunning fourth edition. Set against the backdrop of Playa Negra Beach in Caburgua, located within Chile's picturesque Araucanía region, this event promises a unique blend of natural beauty and athletic challenge. Situated 806 kilometers south of Santiago, Triatlón Caburgua takes place amidst one of the world’s clearest lakes. The pristine waters provide an ideal setting for swimming while lush trails wind through the surrounding forests for cycling and running stages. This event not only tests endurance but also immerses participants in a serene environment that celebrates nature. The competition spans two days, starting with junior categories on Saturday, February 21st, followed by adult races on Sunday, February 22nd. The schedule includes various distances to accommodate athletes of all ages and skill levels: - Junior Sprint (B) for 16-17 years old and (A) for 18-19 year olds: This category features a swim of 750 meters, bike ride of 20 kilometers, and run of 5 kilometers.
- Promotional and Paralympic races are available starting at age 14 with distances adjusted accordingly. For the main event on Sunday, athletes compete in Olympic distance categories from 8:00 AM. These include: - A swim of 1500 meters - A bike ride covering 40 kilometers - And a final run of 10 kilometers The race also features special kids' races for ages ranging from 7 to 13, with distances scaled appropriately and staggered start times throughout the day. Participants can register online through the official channels until capacity is reached. Those who competed in previous years may use their unique code associated with their RUT number (Chilean identification) during early registration. The event's atmosphere emphasizes community engagement and family fun, offering a scenic backdrop for athletes to push themselves while enjoying Chile’s natural beauty.
