Cyclists from around the globe are invited to embark on an unforgettable journey through the breathtaking landscapes of Izu Peninsula. The Kan'ichi Challenge, set for October 10, 2026, offers participants the unique opportunity to traverse approximately 113 kilometers along a scenic route that winds its way from Numazu to the mountainous regions of Izu.
The course takes cyclists through the heart of Kano River and includes a challenging ascent over Toro Pass via West Izu Skyline. This edition features an added twist with the inclusion of Toro Pass, making for a more adventurous and rewarding experience. Cyclists will have the chance to explore iconic spots along the way such as the log raft field and wasabi paddies that are emblematic of the region.
The event is designed in a "free ride" format, allowing cyclists to set their own pace and enjoy the scenic beauty at their leisure. The route offers diverse terrain with winding mountain roads, serene river valleys, picturesque fishing ports, and stunning vistas throughout its 18-kilometer elevation gain.
Participants will not only experience the camaraderie of riding alongside fellow enthusiasts but also have access to an app that provides essential information and support along the way. Upon completion of their journey, cyclists can earn exclusive rewards such as a finish card and cycle ball currency in recognition of their achievement on this special day.
