About the Event

Located off the coast of Victoria, Australia, Point Danger (also known as Cosy Corner) hosts the annual Danger Ocean Swims on January 2nd, 2027. This iconic ocean swim series has been an integral fundraising effort for the Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club since its inception in 1999.
The event offers a variety of distances to cater to swimmers of all ages and fitness levels. Participants can choose from three main categories: More Dangerous (5km), Even More Dangerous (2.5km), as well as two shorter events, the Danger 500m and the Danger 1000m.
The short-distance races take place in a protected bay area of Torquay Front Beach on a triangular course that starts from the clean sandy beach. The swimmers will navigate their way around this enclosed section of water before returning to shore for an exhilarating finish.
For those seeking longer challenges, the 2.5km and 5km events start at Cosy Corner and head out towards Fisherman’s Beach where a turnaround point awaits. Swimmers then make their way back along the coast to Torquay Front Beach for the final push home.
Each race is designed not only as an athletic endeavor but also as a celebration of coastal beauty, with swimmers enjoying picturesque views of the Australian coastline and feeling the refreshing sea breeze while swimming in some of Australia’s most beautiful open waters.
Swimmer information will be available mid-December on both the Danger Ocean Swims website and their social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
