Dark and Dirty Night Race

Revolution Running invites you back for the fifth edition of the Dark and Dirty Half Marathon, an exhilarating night run through stunning private property near Griffin, Georgia. This trail-based half marathon offers runners a unique blend of challenging terrain and breathtaking scenery, pushing participants to their limits under the cover of darkness.
The course features relentless climbs totaling around 2000 feet with no out-and-back sections or loops, ensuring an unrelenting test of endurance on varied trails that wind through nature. As you navigate these rugged paths, a headlamp is essential as visibility drops dramatically after sunset. The route’s brutal yet beautiful character will leave participants feeling both challenged and rewarded.
Upon crossing the finish line, runners can unwind around a cozy bonfire with fellow competitors, sharing stories over beverages provided for all attendees. This post-race gathering fosters camaraderie among athletes while offering a chance to reflect on their night-time adventure.
In addition to being an event in its own right, this half marathon serves as a preview course for The Lone Wolf 135—a grueling endurance race that tests runners over two days. Whether you're eyeing the full challenge or simply looking to sample some of what it entails, running the Dark and Dirty Half Marathon provides insight into the demanding trails ahead.
Each participant receives a short sleeve t-shirt and a finisher’s award as part of their swag package. To ensure safety on this challenging course, all runners are required to bring hydration, sufficient nutrition for over two hours of continuous running, and adequate lighting with headlamps or similar equipment.
An unmanned aid station will be available twice along the route, stocked with snacks, water, and electrolytes. This cupless race encourages environmentally conscious practices by minimizing waste.
