Welcome to Deadfall Trail Races, the inaugural edition of Blackwood Trail Racing's latest and greatest offering. Nestled within the heart of Brighton Recreation Area, Deadfall promises an unforgettable adventure through some of Michigan’s most breathtaking terrain. The race courses—ranging from a fast-paced 10K to the challenging 25K—are meticulously designed to highlight the park's best trails while maintaining an engaging pace throughout. Each distance offers a unique blend of winding singletrack, punchy climbs, and flowing descents that showcase the rugged beauty of Brighton Recreation Area. As autumn sets in, expect crisp morning air, vibrant fall foliage, and a carpet of fallen leaves underfoot, creating the perfect setting for one last big adventure before winter arrives. The trails wind through towering hardwood forests, glacial ridges, serene lakes, and iconic spots like Murray Lake, Penosha Trail, Torn Shirt Ridge, Kachin Pathway, and Bishop Lake. Aid stations are well-stocked with essentials to keep you fueled and hydrated along the way. Volunteers will be stationed throughout the course, providing encouragement and support every step of your journey. The event is designed for runners of all experience levels, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels at home in nature’s embrace. Deadfall Trail Races celebrate trail running as it should be—fun, challenging, and deeply rewarding. Whether you’re aiming to set a personal best or simply looking for an excuse to immerse yourself in the forest, Deadfall is ready to welcome you with open arms.
