Denali100K

The Denali100K, set against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Alaska's towering peaks and glaciers, offers an unparalleled endurance challenge for adventurous athletes. This point-to-point race begins at Alpine Creek Lodge on June 19th, situated approximately halfway along the historic gravel road that once served as the only access route to Denali National Park. With nearly 20 hours of daylight each day during peak summer months, runners will traverse a stunning subalpine landscape dotted with pristine rivers and vast mountain vistas.
The race course spans 100 kilometers from Alpine Creek Lodge near mile marker 68 along the Denali Highway westward to Cantwell, Alaska. Racers start their journey under the watchful eyes of Mount Deborah and Hess before eventually catching a glimpse of North America’s highest peak—Denali itself—if conditions allow.
Support crews are mandatory for all participants, providing essential supplies like food and water throughout the 18-hour race window. One pacer is permitted to accompany runners at any given time, sharing in both pacing duties and crew responsibilities from within their support vehicle.
The route features a mix of scenic river crossings and isolated stretches where only the road and occasional passing motorists break the silence. Key landmarks include the Susitna River Bridge around mile 79.5 and Clearwater Mountain Lodge near mile 82, offering respite with basic amenities before runners face an extended stretch without services.
Upon completing the challenging course within the allotted time frame, finishers receive a unique handmade antler belt buckle along with commemorative shirts celebrating their achievement. The Denali100K is limited to just 50 participants and requires proof of prior endurance race experience or sufficient training for completion.
This event promises an unforgettable adventure in one of Earth’s most majestic settings, inviting runners to embrace the grandeur of Alaska's natural beauty while pushing personal limits.
