Explore the McMaster Hills and their breathtaking vistas with Dinged to Blads Trail Runs, set just east of Helena. This unique race offers runners three distinct distances through some of Montana's most picturesque landscapes. Whether you're tackling 14 kilometers for a leisurely loop or pushing yourself over 50 kilometers by completing two full circuits of the BIG and SMALL loops, each distance promises an unforgettable adventure. The course is designed to showcase the natural beauty surrounding the McMaster Hills, including panoramic views of the Missouri River, Hauser Lake, Big Belt Mountains, Elkhorn Mountains, and Helena valley. Runners will experience smooth trails that offer not only stunning scenery but also a chance for refreshment—literally! At one point during your run, you can dip into the refreshing waters of the Missouri River if needed. For 2026, this event is being offered as a trial race with free registration to ensure all kinks are worked out before transitioning to an official annual event in 2027. The course details and map will be available on our website for your convenience. Aid stations will provide essential support along the way. There's one main station at the McMaster Hills East Trailhead, offering water and minimal snacks. Additional hydration points may be set up if weather conditions warrant it, particularly during hotter days. For those running multiple loops, extra provisions are available near the start/finish area. Participants can also utilize their personal vehicles as additional aid stations for their specific needs. Markings will be kept to a minimum this year to preserve the natural beauty of the course, but major intersections should have some directional signs to keep you on track. Whether you're a seasoned trail runner or new to these hills, Dinged to Blads Trail Runs promises an experience that is as rewarding for your body as it is for your soul.
