Starting 7:30 AM on Sunday, October 18 from the roundabout east of South Yongning Gate Plaza, Xi'an, Shaanxi, this marathon sends its full distance to a finish at Xi'an Olympic Sports Center Stadium and its half marathon to Huizhan Yi Road, with 36,000 runners split between a marathon (42.195km, 24,000 spots) and half marathon (21.0975km, 12,000 spots). Pre-registration runs August 4 11:00 - August 20 17:00, with lottery results announced August 31 and payment due by September 2 17:00 or entry forfeited. Xi'an, ancient Chang'an, is one of the cradles of Chinese civilization, home to the Terracotta Army, the Giant and Small Wild Goose Pagodas, the Daming Palace ruins, and the ancient city wall. Entry fees: marathon 200rmb, half marathon 200rmb.
