Duathlon de Haute Auvergne

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Saint-Flour in Cantal, the Duathlon offers runners and cyclists an exhilarating challenge through varied terrain and stunning landscapes. Scheduled for September 27, 2026, this race is a key event on the FFTRI Challenge National Long Distance Duathlon calendar.
The day begins with racers gathering at Allées Pompidou in Saint-Flour to embark on their journey. Participants can choose from three distinct formats: M (Men's), S (Senior), and XS (Junior) categories, each tailored for different age groups and fitness levels. The event is open to Juniors starting from 2007 & 2008 birth years in the Men’s format, Cadets born in 2009 & 2010 in the Senior category, and Benjamins (born in 2013 & 2014) as well as Minimes (born in 2011 & 2012).
Registration for all categories is available from September 26th between 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on the day of the race, September 27th, from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM. The Men's format starts at 9:30 AM followed by the Senior category at 9:45 AM with a slightly delayed start for Junior racers due to their younger age groups.
The M and S formats feature rigorous courses designed to test endurance over long distances, while the XS format caters specifically to young athletes looking to challenge themselves in shorter but equally demanding runs. The Men's course includes an initial 10 km run with a total elevation gain of 229 meters, followed by a grueling 40 km bike ride across rolling hills and scenic routes through Planèze, offering panoramic views of the Monts du Cantal mountains before concluding with another 5 km run. The Senior category follows similar distances but scaled down slightly to accommodate younger athletes, while the Junior format is further reduced in length yet retains its challenging nature.
Race day promises a unique blend of urban and rural settings as participants traverse through Saint-Flour's historic center known as "Cité des Vents," before heading out into the countryside for their cycling segment. The race concludes with an awards ceremony at 12:30 PM where podium positions will be celebrated, marking the end of a day filled with athletic prowess and scenic beauty.
For those looking to secure their place in this competitive yet welcoming event, registration fees are set at €35 for Men’s format (including a mandatory FFTRI Experience license fee if not already licensed), €25 for Senior category participants, and €15 for Junior racers.
