Eagle Up Ultra: A Monumental 24-Hour Challenge Step into St. Helena Park, nestled in historic Downtown Canal Fulton, Ohio, for an unforgettable endurance experience at the Eagle Up Ultra. This massive 24-hour ultramarathon has grown to become one of the world's largest events since its inception a decade ago. The race is proudly supported by Team RWB (Recreation and Wellness), with proceeds from every registration going directly towards their mission. The course, which loops through St. Helena Park and along the Ohio Erie Canal Towpath for 5 miles, offers runners a mix of crushed limestone paths and short stretches of grass within the camping area. The route is well-lit at night, allowing participants to enjoy the scenic beauty day and night. With over 40 states and three countries represented in past years, this event has become an international gathering place for endurance athletes. Aid stations are strategically placed throughout the park, with a main station located near the pavilion offering a variety of snacks, hot food later in the evening, and hydration options. Runners can also find water at mile 1, mile 2.5, and mile 4 along their route to stay hydrated during long loops. For those looking for a shorter distance challenge, this year's event includes a new 25K option. This race within a race is perfect for friends or family members who want to experience the vibrant atmosphere without committing to an entire loop. The Eagle Up Ultra wouldn't be complete without its partnership with Lockport Brewery, which provides each runner with one free beer post-race. Additional brews and pint glasses emblazoned with the event logo can also be purchased for crew, family members, friends, or runners who wish to celebrate their accomplishment in style. The race weekend kicks off on Friday, June 4th, with packet pickup from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the main pavilion. A pre-race dinner is available exclusively for Team RWB members between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. The official start time is Saturday morning at 6:00 AM, followed by a band performance from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Camping within the park is free of charge, providing runners with ample space to rest between loops. While RV spots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, there's plenty of room for tents or other camping setups. Pacers can join their runners after they've completed two laps but must adhere to strict rules regarding aid station use. Runners who complete the full 24-hour window will earn finishing medals and buckles upon crossing the finish line. Relay teams aiming for a minimum distance of 100 miles in that timeframe are eligible for special relay team medals, though they may continue running beyond this goal if desired. With no age group awards but plenty of recognition for those who push their limits over two days, the Eagle Up Ultra is an event where camaraderie and community spirit shine through.
