East Haven Community Classic

Race morning in East Haven is quiet and crisp with a temperature around 19°C that feels just right under the blue sky. The course is flat and fast, winding through streets lined with trees and quaint homes. Participants will run past local businesses and landmarks making it a familiar yet exciting route for both newcomers and regulars.
Since its inception in 2015, this race has grown to support over 300 runners each year. All proceeds benefit the East Haven Police Athletic League, which offers safe sports programs to local youth, providing them with wholesome activities that keep kids active and engaged. This event is a community cornerstone, bringing together families for an early fall morning run in aid of our young members.
The course venue starts at the East Shore Park Greenway, passing through the bustling downtown area where runners can see Town Hall and Old Stone Church up close. The race layout includes firm yet slightly soft conditions underfoot—perfect for a smooth 5K experience. There will be no special features or elevation changes to disrupt your pace; it's a straightforward path that showcases East Haven’s charm.

Don't forget to bring your own water bottle as there are no aid stations along the course.
