Edwardsville's Thanksgiving Day tradition is back for 2025!!

Mark your calendars for Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 27, 2025—the Edwardsville Turkey Trot is back!

Now in its 16th year, the Turkey Trot has grown into a cherished holiday tradition for local families and for those visiting loved ones in the area. With participation regularly topping 1,400 runners—and a record 1,788 in 2019—it’s recognized as one of the largest (if not the largest) 5Ks in the region.

This year’s event will once again be hosted on the scenic campus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, giving participants a beautiful backdrop to kick off their Thanksgiving celebrations.

More than just a race, the Turkey Trot supports a great cause. Proceeds benefit Edwardsville Neighbors, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides critical financial assistance to District 7 families during times of crisis.

So grab your family, gather your friends, and join us Thanksgiving morning for a run, a walk, and a tradition that gives back to the community we love.
