Eksjö 2027 Sjöloppet

Welcome to Sjöloppet, Sweden's premier swimrun race held annually in Eksjö. This year, the competition moves from its traditional Saturday date to Sunday on June 13th, allowing participants more time to explore and enjoy the charming wooden city of Eksjö before the event.
The new organizers at Forma Framtid Friskvårdcenter are committed to enhancing your race experience while maintaining all beloved traditions. Sjöloppet offers a variety of classes suitable for runners of all ages and skill levels, from children's races to elite competitions. The festival atmosphere is electric, with families cheering on their young athletes in the Children and Family Class as they tackle a 1.2-kilometer course.
For adults looking to challenge themselves, Sjöloppet features two main race categories: the Distance Race at 30 kilometers and the Sprint Race at 15 kilometers. Each class offers unique terrain with transitions through eight different lakes in Småland's lush forests and along Eksjö’s historic town center.
The longest course is a true test of endurance, covering 25 sections across varied landscapes that include both running trails and swimming passages. Participants will experience the magic of Sweden’s countryside as they navigate from lake to forest, passing through charming villages and ancient woodlands.
In addition to the competitive races, Sjöloppet offers an Exercise Class at a more relaxed pace over 10 kilometers for those who want to enjoy the scenery without racing against time. All participants can look forward to post-race festivities including free bouncy castles for kids, therapeutic massages, and hearty finish-line hamburgers paired with refreshing beer.
The event is designed so that all classes start at different times but converge near the end of their respective courses in Eksjö's beautiful water management park. This ensures a unified finish line where everyone can celebrate together amidst a vibrant community atmosphere.
