Ellandaloppet

Ellandaloppet is a scenic community race scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026, in the village of Ellanda, located just south of Växjö in Småland, Sweden. Organized by the Ellanda Byagille local association, the event offers a mix of terrain including asphalt, gravel paths, forest roads, and trails. While the course is described as relatively flat, participants should expect a few challenging inclines throughout the 5 km and 10 km distances. The event is known for its intimate and welcoming atmosphere, capped at 120 adult participants and 40 children to ensure a high-quality experience for all runners.

Ellanda is a rural settlement within Växjö Municipality in Kronoberg County. Registration for Ellandaloppet is open until April 17th, with bib distribution beginning at 9:00 AM on race day at the activity field in the center of the village. All participants in the 5 km and 10 km races are treated to a post-race snack of bananas, drinks, and hot dogs, while children in the free race receive a celebratory diploma. The event hub includes a kiosk selling coffee and local treats, though there are no on-site showers; instead, organizers suggest a post-race dip at the village swimming area. Due to limited parking, travelers are encouraged to utilize the nearby Krösatågen train station in Gemla or local bus routes.
