Ellerdine Effort 5k

Ellerdine Effort 5k Charity Road Race promises to be an inspiring evening run that supports meaningful causes. Organized by Bruce Gregory and supported by Telford Athletic Club, the race will take place on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, starting at 7pm from Ellerdine Village Hall in TF6 6QT.
The event features a fast-paced 5k course that winds through scenic local roads. Participants should arrive early to collect their race numbers and ensure they reach the start line on time, as it is about one kilometer away from the village hall where parking will be available at the playing field opposite the venue (what3words: into.branching.clapper).
Toilets are accessible in Ellerdine Village Hall but there are no shower facilities provided. After crossing the finish line, runners can enjoy refreshments and mingle with fellow participants.
This event is a charity race where all proceeds will be divided between Prostate Cancer UK and Ellerdine Village Hall, generously sponsored by Green Power & Heat Ltd., local Solar PV specialists. Entry fees of £10 are payable online only to those aged 16 or older.
For those unable to participate on the day, entries cannot be transferred but a waiting list is available for refunds or donations towards the charities.
Race organizers encourage all participants to bring their own safety pins and arrive early to collect numbers from Race HQ at Ellerdine Village Hall where toilets are also located. Parking instructions advise runners to use only designated areas at the playing field opposite the hall, respecting local residents by avoiding parking on village roads.
Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers as well as winners in each five-year age group category for both genders.
