The annual Encinitas Turkey Trot returns with its signature blend of scenic beauty and festive spirit, marking the 11th edition since its inception in 2016. This year's race is scheduled for November 26th, offering participants a picturesque course that winds through the charming coastal city of Encinitas. Race morning promises clear skies and mild temperatures, typically ranging between 11.3°C to 20.2°C with light sea breezes providing a refreshing touch. The atmosphere is lively as families gather early for this beloved tradition. Races begin at 7:30 AM for adult participants, followed by the Kids K run at 7:40 AM and the 5K starting promptly at 8 AM. The course, which starts from the iconic Encinitas Sign in front of the town hall park, features rolling hills that offer a dynamic challenge. While some elevation changes are present, runners will find themselves mostly on paved roads for smooth navigation. Hydration points are strategically placed to ensure safety and comfort throughout the route. There is something for everyone at this event: adult 5K, 10K, and young adult distances; as well as a special Kids K run designed for children aged four to nine. Fees range from $60.83 for the Young Adult 10k to $92.93 for the full 10K race. Packet pickup is available at the Encinitas Recreation Center between November 19th and 24th, or on race day with required ID and a printed confirmation. Early bird registration ends on October 30th; after that, fees increase to $75 per distance for both adults and children. On race morning, participants can anticipate mild weather conditions that make the run comfortable despite potential humidity levels around 66%.
