EnduroSwimUK invites endurance swimmers of every level to take on its unique overnight challenge, offering both soloists and relay teams an unforgettable aquatic experience. Participants can choose from multiple options: a continuous 36km swim or shorter swims ranging from one mile to half a mile each hour for twelve hours straight.
The event kicks off at 8:00 PM with parking and registration available starting at 6:30 PM on the lake access road, where space is free. Swimmers are encouraged to bring their own comfortable camping chair as there will be an illuminated 'Swimmers Rest' area provided near the water's edge.
Participants must swim solo without any land support during the event; however, safety personnel and volunteers will ensure swimmers receive necessary assistance throughout the night. An essential item for all participants is a tow-float with illumination to maintain visibility both day and night.
The venue boasts covered gazebo areas equipped with changing facilities and hot showers to keep everyone comfortable between laps. Swimmers are advised to bring swim caps, appropriate gear, warm clothing layers, and their own refreshment supplies as there will be heated urns available for use.
In addition to the exhilarating challenge of swimming through the night, all participants receive medals upon completion along with a variety of goodies. For those who wish to hedge against unforeseen circumstances that might prevent them from attending, XCover is also offered at purchase.
