About the Event

Experience the beauty of Georgetown and its historic C&O Canal Path at the annual half marathon and 5K race. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Washington D.C., runners will traverse through lush greenery, crossing picturesque bridges and passing by serene waterways.
The event offers a perfect blend for both serious athletes and recreational walkers alike. The half marathon route winds along the canal's scenic path, providing stunning views of the Potomac River in the distance. Participants can expect to enjoy gentle rolling hills and flat stretches that showcase the area’s rich history and natural beauty.
For those who prefer shorter distances or are looking for a fun day out with family and friends, the 5K is an ideal choice. It follows a similar route but covers less ground, allowing everyone from beginners to seasoned runners to take part in this community-driven event.
The race starts near the heart of Georgetown’s bustling streets before transitioning onto the tranquil C&O Canal path where it remains until the finish line. The atmosphere is lively and supportive, with cheering spectators along the way adding an extra layer of excitement for all participants.
Whether you're a local looking to explore your city in a new light or a visitor wanting to experience Washington D.C.’s unique charm through its landscapes, this race offers an unforgettable journey through one of America’s most iconic neighborhoods.
