Embark on an unforgettable journey through time at the Ephesus Ultra Marathon. This race takes runners through some of the most historically significant sites in Turkey, allowing participants to connect with ancient civilizations while pushing their physical limits. The route begins near the awe-inspiring ruins of the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, where visitors can marvel at its grandeur and imagine the crowds that once gathered here. As runners progress through the course, they'll pass by the House of the Virgin Mary, a sanctuary revered by Christians since the 5th century. This sacred site offers tranquility and spiritual reflection amidst serene surroundings just seven kilometres from Ephesus. The marathon route also winds around the ancient city itself, where remnants of Roman architecture tell stories of a bustling port town with its own sea canal and harbour basin. Participants will navigate through landscapes that blend natural beauty with historical significance, encountering diverse terrains including rugged paths and scenic vistas. This unique event not only challenges runners but also immerses them in the rich cultural tapestry of Ephesus, making it an experience unlike any other. The Ephesus Ultra Marathon is more than just a race; it's a journey through history where every step taken connects athletes to the past while celebrating human endurance and achievement.
