Climbing Club Adventure: Gower Peninsula Weekend Retreat From September 11th through the 13th, our climbing club is heading to Kilvrough Manor on the picturesque Gower Peninsula for an unforgettable weekend of rock climbing, coastal exploration, and camaraderie. This trip offers something for everyone—whether you're a seasoned climber looking to tackle new routes or someone who simply enjoys spending time by the sea. Nestled along Wales' stunning coastline, Kilvrough Manor provides a perfect base for our adventures. The Gower Peninsula is renowned for its dramatic cliffs and pristine beaches, offering diverse terrain that caters to climbers of all skill levels. Spend your days conquering challenging routes or wandering along sandy shores while enjoying the breathtaking sea views. Evenings will be filled with relaxation as we gather around group dinners and drinks, sharing stories from the day's adventures over hearty meals cooked by fellow club members. Saturday night marks our end-of-season celebration—a vibrant party to commemorate another year of shared experiences and memorable climbs. Participants are encouraged to bring their own food and sleeping arrangements for a more personalized camping experience. Detailed safety guidelines will be provided prior to departure, including recommendations on using assisted breaking devices during climbing sessions and carrying personal first aid kits. Membership discounts apply, with the cost being £60 per person for club members and £70 for non-members. Non-member attendees who have participated in previous activities within the past three months are covered under our insurance policy; however, full membership is required after this period to continue enjoying these exclusive trips. Transportation details will be coordinated through a Facebook event page where participants can arrange carpooling or lift sharing via WhatsApp groups for those not on social media. It’s important to note that we do not provide professional mountain qualifications—participants join at their own discretion among peers. Join us this September for an exciting weekend of climbing, relaxation, and community bonding in one of Britain's most scenic coastal destinations. For any inquiries or assistance with transportation arrangements, feel free to reach out to a committee member directly. Please ensure you adhere to our code of conduct to maintain the inclusive and enjoyable atmosphere we strive to create during all club activities.
