Essex Way Ultra (82 miles)

The Essex Way Ultra is an epic 82-mile journey that stretches from Epping tube station in London to the historic port of Harwich, where runners will finish at the high lighthouse overlooking the coastline. This challenging ultra-marathon follows the entire length of the picturesque Essex Way trail, which weaves through a diverse landscape featuring mixed trails, footpaths, tracks, and roads.
The race begins at 9:00 PM on Friday, July 2nd, 2027, setting runners off under the cover of night. The course is designed with five checkpoints along its route to provide essential support for participants, ensuring they have access to necessary amenities throughout their journey. Additionally, each runner will be allotted a drop bag at one designated checkpoint to store personal items and refreshments.
The Essex Way Ultra offers an elevation gain of 3,469 feet across the varied terrain, making it both physically demanding and visually rewarding as participants move through historic villages and stunning natural settings in Essex County. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association (TRA) and adheres to UK Athletics rules, ensuring a safe and well-organized experience for all competitors.
Entry fees are £107 for affiliated runners and £109 for unaffiliated entrants. Each participant will receive a 10% discount code from Time To Run upon registration. Additionally, the event organizers donate £1 from every entry to support conservation efforts with Essex Wildlife Trust.
Participants must be at least 20 years old on race day to enter and are required to read, understand, and agree to all disclaimer terms, conditions, withdrawal policies before registering through Entry Central. Postal entries or same-day registrations will not be accepted for this event.
