Nestled along the coast of Algeciras, Eurafrica Race organizers are proud to showcase their hometown's natural beauty through this stunning mountain half marathon. The race winds its way through the rugged terrain and lush landscapes of the Sierra de las Banderas, offering runners a unique glimpse into the region’s rich biodiversity.
The route is punctuated by charming Mediterranean streams known locally as "canutos," which meander through ancient cork oak forests brimming with ferns. Throughout the course, participants will be treated to breathtaking views across the Strait of Gibraltar, enhancing the already picturesque setting. This half marathon stays true to its origins by connecting historical trails that have long been a part of Eurafrica’s legacy.
Running along well-trodden paths such as Río de la Miel and Puerto de la Higuera, runners will also traverse lesser-known gems like Cortafuegos del Pico Vacas and the Sendero Manzanete. These sections are reminiscent of the race's inaugural year in 2015 when it began at Colada de la Costa.
