Experience Dragon Boat Racing - Chicago 2026

Experience the thrill of dragon boat racing this summer in Chicago. Nestled amidst the scenic Lake Arlington, just north of the city limits, the Windy City Dragon Boat Club offers an immersive training and race experience that is both challenging and rewarding.
For those new to the sport or looking for a comprehensive introduction, the Train & Race Package stands out as your perfect choice. Spanning five weeks from June 24th to July 22nd, this program provides a structured approach with weekly practices every Wednesday evening from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Under the guidance of experienced coaches, participants will learn everything they need to know about dragon boating—no prior experience is necessary.
Each session at Windy City Dragon Boat Club ensures you have all the essential gear provided, including boats, paddles, and life jackets. All you need to bring are clothes that can get wet! Upon successful completion of this program, participants will join over 100 teams for the exhilarating Chicago International Dragon Boat Festival on July 25th. The festival is held at South Pool in Busse Woods Preserve, located in Elk Grove County.
The Train & Race Package not only equips you with the skills but also connects you with a community of passionate paddlers. Participants can look forward to camaraderie and the potential for lifelong friendships forged through shared experiences on the water.
For seasoned paddlers who wish to refresh their skills or those eager to travel, the Race Ready Package is ideal.
