Eyota Days 5K Road Race

The Conway Riverfest 5K returns to Conway, South Carolina on June 22nd, a celebration of community and fitness through the scenic parklands surrounding downtown.
On race morning in late spring, runners gather along the tree-lined streets of historic Eyota. The air is crisp with just enough warmth from the July sun. Participants lace up their shoes at the town square before heading down Main Street towards the riverfront. The course winds through lush greenery and past charming old buildings, offering a picturesque backdrop for every runner.
For over 15 years now, this 5K has been more than just a race—it’s a tradition that brings Eyota together to support local initiatives like the Dover-Eyota Eagles Foundation, which provides scholarships and resources to students in need. Every year sees larger numbers of participants—last year alone saw nearly 300 runners cross the finish line.
The course venue is the town's main park, known for its well-maintained trails that provide a perfect surface even under the summer sun’s strong UV rays. Runners begin and end their journey at the central gazebo area where volunteers hand out bibs and water bottles along with encouraging words. The trail is hard-packed dirt that remains dry despite occasional light rain showers, ensuring smooth progress throughout.
Weather on race day can be quite mild, averaging a comfortable 21.7 degrees Celsius but ranging from 16.8 to 26.5 degrees, making for ideal racing conditions. With an average of only 3.4mm of rainfall and over 12 hours of sunshine, the course is sure to feel welcoming even on cooler mornings.
