Fairmont Sunset Mile

Fairmont, West Virginia. The Friendly City. The Fairmont Sunset Mile returns on Friday, June 5, 2026, starting at 7:00 PM EDT. A fast and fun downhill mile — start at the top of Morgantown Avenue, finish inside Palatine Park. Prize purse: $100, $75, $50 for top 3 men and women. Free beer ticket (Stumptown Ales, 21+), free pizza, free race day photos. Kids 400 race at 7:25 PM. First‑place male and female Fairmont State XC alumni receive awards. All proceeds benefit Fairmont State XC. Hosted by the Fairmont State XC program.

Location — Fairmont, West Virginia (Morgantown Ave & Palatine Park):

• Fairmont is a city in north‑central West Virginia, about 30 minutes south of Morgantown, 1.5 hours south of Pittsburgh
• Start line: across from Advance Auto on Morgantown Avenue
• Finish line: inside Palatine Park (a riverside park along the Monongahela River)
• The course is downhill — fast and fun, perfect for mile PRs

Fairmont State XC Alumni Awards:

• First‑place male and female Fairmont State XC alumni will receive awards (separate from the open prize purse)
