About the Event

Experience the unique allure of the Federation Ultra Trail, an adventure born out of a passion for exploration and discovery. First launched in 2018, this trail race invites runners to traverse the southern stretch of the Lavender/Federation Trail from Monarto Safari Park to Sturt Reserve's riverside trailhead. The course offers more than just a run; it provides exclusive access to some of Monarto Safari Park’s walking trails, where participants can catch glimpses of roaming wild animals such as meerkats, giraffes, bison, chimpanzees, and rhinos.
Since its inception, the Federation Ultra Trail has not only delighted runners with its scenic route but also made a significant contribution to conservation efforts. Proceeds from the event have surpassed $35,000, all of which are donated back to Monarto Safari Park for the purpose of protecting endangered species.
In 2019, this trail race took on an even greater challenge as it joined forces with S.A.’s Five 50’s Ultra series. This prestigious series now in its seventh year challenges participants to complete five ultra-distance races across South Australia's varied landscapes. The Federation Ultra Trail stands out for offering a rich blend of natural beauty and the thrill of running alongside wildlife, making it an unforgettable experience.
Runners will find themselves immersed in a setting that seamlessly blends adventure with conservation efforts, providing not only a physical challenge but also a chance to support important ecological causes.
